History
Land selected at Martintown (now Tolga) in 1885 to build the Commercial Read More...Hotel continues to support the present day pub.
The original building was destroyed by fire in 1929 and replaced by the contemporary hotel removed from Kureen. This pub became known as The Commercial until its name changed to The Tolga Hotel in 1973. Tolga is an Aboriginal word for red mud
Since its construction back in the 19th century it has no doubt seen its fair share of locals and larrikins, travellers and indeed publicans and this continues today with present day publicans Steve and Laura Heslin and their loyal customers. Locals and tourists alike are known to enjoy all the pub has to offer. From a cold beer to a huge feed, a bed for the night, a flutter on the KENO or catching the game on Foxsports the Tolga Hotel is a country pub, doing what country pubs do best.
Most weekends you can enjoy LIVE MUSIC, whether kicking off the weekend on a Friday night or enjoying a relaxed Sunday afternoon session.
The restaurant (open 7 days - except public holidays) is well known for its great quality, generous meals - with all the classic pub favourites from our famous steak sandwich to our delicious Reef and Beef....Seafood Baskets, Crumbed Steaks, Barramundi and everything in between... plus a specials board for something a bit different. Also providing a choice of desserts, excellent nespresso coffee and a well selected wine list. Restaurant bookings are highly recommended.
A point of difference for The Tolga Hotel is its recently opened Playpen aiming to provide families with a more enjoyable dining experience. The Playpen is open Sunday through to Wednesday lunch and dinner and provides a space for kids of all ages to play entertain themselves whilst mum and dad enjoy some dinner in (relative) peace and quiet. There is a TV, Blackboard, colouring in, soft mats, cushions, books and toys and we will continue to add to these facilities in the future.
Our public bar is a great place to kick back and enjoy a coldie, either at the bar chatting to locals and staff, watching the world go by at the windows or outside in our designated smoking area. We have a great range of beers on tap, spirits, wines and soft drinks.
We have every NRL game Live on Foxsports and once the footy is over well do our best to please every sports fan...all you have to do is ask!
The drive thru bottle shop is ideal for stopping by on your way home from work and checking out the Bottlo Neighbourhood specials.
